Pulau Tikus Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Dessert House 糖伯府港式糖水屋

Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Dessert House 糖伯府港式糖水屋 is well establish in Raja Uda and Penang people are very lucky today as their open their branch in Pulau Tikus. I am very impress by how they name their restaurant, it is so simple and memorable.

Red Bean Soup Glutinous Balls RM5.80, red bean based served with Glutinous balls,

Red Bean Soup Soya Bean Curd RM5.80, it exactly the same as previous but replace with Soya Bean Curb, it is quite smooth.

Mango Mini Rice Glutinous Ball RM7.80, mango cut into small pieces served with glutinous ball but glutinous ball become hard into the mango base.

Mango with QQ Ball, mango based served with QQ Ball, QQ Ball is a small ball shape with thin layer cover outside, once bite water inside will burst out.

Sea Coconut Ice Cream Grass Jelly RM10.80, coconut milk blended served with sea coconut, ice cream and grass jelly.

Golden Legend of Four RM19.80. mainly emphasize on mango, it come in 4 different type of dessert such as mango glutinous rice, mango pudding, mango ice cream and a bowl of fresh fruits.

Harsmar Bird Nest Mix Fruits RM29.80. another coconut based dessert but this came with bird nest, well you paid for what you get so the bird nest is indeed taste like jelly.

Grape Coconut Mix Fruits Mini Sago RM14.80. Grape ice blended with coconut ice blended served with fresh vegetable.

Honey Dew Black Rice RM5.80, glutinous rice served with coconut ice blended and honey dew.

Honey Dew Aloe Vera RM5.80. almost same as below except the replacement of aloe vera.

Kiwi Soya Bean Curd RM7.80. kiwi ice blended served with soya bean curb.

Dark Chocolate Fondue RM29.80. Last and most interesting is the Dark Chocolate Fondue, honestly the portion is rather small as only few dipping fruit available and the ice cream is melting when served.


Occasionally there will be live band singing.

Patiscream Pannacotta Mixed Berry the secret of Ice Cream recipe

Just after come out from MRT station, in Citilink mall you can find Patiscream ice cream shop on your left. Patiscream is originated from Japan.
Total of 11 flavor available for selection, such as Strawberry Shortcake, Mont Blanc, Tiramisu, Passion Mango Trifle, Crème Brulee Banana Confiture…etc.


We choose No.11 Pannacotta Mixed Berry SGD5.90

Pannacotta Mixed Berry, Pannacotta is actually an Italian cooked cream where mixture of cream, milk and sugar with gelatin.
We had here the ice cream top with strawberry, raspberry and blueberry.

At the side of the box it display how each layer of Pannacotta Mixed Berry form, it include of various berry, fresh cream, mixed berry marshmallow, pannacotta ice cream and raspberry confiture.

Patiscream Pannacotta Mixed Berry has rich taste and refreshing.

Fruuze Frozen Yogurt at Strait Quay

Lately we hang out a lot at Strait Quay, after tasting Bella Marino and Charlie Brown now is time for some dessert, Fruuze Frozen Yogurt is our target.
The shop has very pinky design on counter and dining area furnish with wood and relaxing chair and table. No doubt a good place to hang out with friend for a session of chit chat.


Fruuze Yogurt came with 4 different flavor, original, blueberry, strawberry and mango price from Rm6.50 to RM16.00.
Fruuze Yogurt is like ice cream which texture exactly the same as J.COOL Yogurt Ice Cream which gave a creamy texture and taste sour.
Various type of topping available ranging from fruit, chocolate, sweet and nuts, the portion of topping given is less compare to J.COOL.

If it is the first in Penang to serve Yogurt Ice Cream then it will be top of the list but after tasting J.COOL it behind the list.

Santorini Café 爱琴海 Burma Road

Santorini Café 爱琴海partnering with EziVoucher for 5 course meal promotion for only RM8, what a deal! RM8 is like a meal for economy rice without drink but we are getting 5 course meal in air-con restaurant.
Santorini Café just located next to Chow Thean Yeang Aquarium along Jalan Burma, it not easy to get parking lot but you may park inside Chow Thean Yeang Aquarium and redeem back.
Interior design mainly on sky blue painting with a side wall full with hand drawn tile, some are so cute.



Potato Salad, boiled potato top with mayonnaise where you can taste the original taste of potato with mild sour taste from mayonnaise.

Homemade mushroom soup taste good with strong mushroom flavor in the thick soup, flavor rich.

Grilled Fish with Lemon sauce accompany with fried and salad, portion of the fish is rather small but well grilled to crispy skin and season with sweet and sour lemon sauce. Overall taste is good as the sauce is tasty and not too strong covering the fish freshness.

Grilled Chicken with Mango sauce plate with fried and salad, sauce on top of the perfectly grill chicken is not really the Mango sauce as it doesn’t flavor much on Mango instead it a little bit sour and spicy, more toward Thai sauce, it indeed taste quite good.

Coffee is just normal coffee without strong coffee aroma.

Home Desert is rather disappointing as it on the shelf ice cream without any topping, rather bland and taste just normal.

Well, the food is good and the price is extremely cheap for promotion voucher.

Post Café Grilled Norwegian Salmon and Chicken Gordon Bleu

Get to know Post Café from newspaper where a full page of advertising of the newly open restaurant, it located at Carnarvon Street which is the road beside the big market. It was quite hard to get a parking lot during dinner time because parking space is really limited in that area, best is to park around market and has some walking to the café.

We ordered two Set Meal and one of set Daily Special, set meal is Chicken Gordon Bleu and Grilled Norwegian Salmon while Daily Special on Sunday is Jumbo Sausage.
Wheatgrass was served in a small “jug” cup, the taste is not really wheatgrass instead we can sense the flavor is more toward green tea but nevertheless it taste good and the cup is quite big as well.

Grilled Norwegian Salmon Set meal RM23.90 come with Garlic Bread, Soup of the Day, coffee or wheatgrass and dessert. Salmon is quite a big piece and grill to perfection, it would be best if some sauce are provided as the grilled salmon is quite plain, it was not fair if I will to compare it with Ferringhi Garden Grilled Salmon due to the price different but just to share with you all for reference.

Chicken Gordon Bleu Set Meal RM18.90 comes with Garlic Bread, Soup of the Day, coffee or wheatgrass and dessert. The way Post Café cook Chicken Gordon Bleu is very different from the old style where ham and cheese are stuff inside drumstick and then deep fried, instead they pan fried the chicken drumstick and top with ham and cheese. It was creative and the different texture it really a success to the new era of Chicken Gordon Bleu where no deep fried and less oily. Other than the special Chicken Gordon Bleu, the mash potato is another special made where a bunch of mash potato shape up and pan fried which further enrich the flavor.

Daily Special Jumbo Sausage RM9.90, two Jumbo Sausage with salad and chips for just RM9.90, Jumbo Sausage is really delicious but you must finish as served else it will become a little bit hard due to the cold air conditioning. Daily Special set is really worth the value as the portion is big and delicious.

Dessert is a scoop of Ice Cream, taste is rather normal as we were expect something special since they has some creativity on food but not on dessert.

E&O Sarkies Corner Buffet Part III : Dessert

I would like to call the next section as a Kid Corner, where a big Chocolate Fondue is available for kid to dip in either marshmallow or a fresh fruit, Chocolate is very strong in flavor but just a little bit too sweet for us.

As mention above where you can dip fresh fruit in the Chocolate Fondue, or if like to take the fresh fruit raw then you are up for selection of Strawberries, Grape, Dragon Fruit, Jack Fruit, Honey Dew and etc. I would like to emphasize on the Fresh Strawberries which size is really big and a lot served, as well the best fruit to dip into the chocolate fondue because strawberries is sour and chocolate is sweet which create a very best combination.

Taste…iest Fruit Selection Plate, Jack Fruit, Honey Dew and a lot of Raw Strawberries and Chocolate Strawberries.

Kid Corner must not operate without a good ice cream and without expectation for high quality ice cream we saw some pink wording with BR written outside of the box and guess what, Baskin Robbins ice cream is served. Total of 6 different taste of ice cream to choose from, we taste all different type of ice cream and I like the green tea ice cream the most while the rest is equally good just that some of the ice cream is starting to melt.

Up next is the ladies heaven where countless type of dessert is presented, totally happy with their dessert availability where nonstop refilling, rarely you can see empty space in the dessert table.

Moose Tart where moose apply on top of the tart.

Fruit Tart is the mixture of Strawberry, Peach and Grape form of a small tart.

Cream Puff with Chocolate on top, not much flavor with this dessert.

Some other dessert which almost all are very tasty and not too sweet.

Totally happy with the money spend and well worth the value, definitely will come back for another round in future. Good service, friendly staff and efficient service, our plate is clear every time we stand up for another of food and water/wine refilling, and certainly enjoying the in house performance.

E&O Sarkies Corner Buffet Part II : Main Dish

Half way dines and we starting to hear a wonderful voice coming out from nowhere, at one point we suspect some background music is played but we are wrong as the voice is coming from the in house performer without using any amplifier. Very entertaining and everyone is so happy to even sing along which created a very happening environment, it really relaxing and enjoying for the performance with a wine in hand.

Is that a lot for the appetizer? I believe if you will to take each of the above then you are out from the league to the rest of the good food because up next is the grilling section where couple of chefs grill on the spot for you to ensure freshness and hot on the plate.

You get to choose Baby Lobster, Oyster, Satay, Lamb, Crab, Sausage, Salmon Head and Big Prawn. Baby Lobster cook with tomato sauce, Oyster cook with Cheese, Lamb;Crab;Sausage pan grill to perfection, Salmon Head and Prawn is kind of deep fried and then pan grill.

The crab is not really big but it definitely fresh from the sea, I can really taste the sweetness but it just slightly overcook while the sausage is cheese sausage where heavy cheese taste coming into your mouth from first bite and melting out slowly.

Don’t miss out the spaghetti if you are “Italian”, various type of Macaroni and Pasta together with different sauce for your selection, just bear in mind to order the smallest plate else this will overkill and fill your quota very fast. It look to be very delicious but sadly we not able to share with you the taste because we plan to take it later but after some other dishes we just give up.

Couple of roast whole duck is so tempting with the down light shooting at the golden color crispy skin, chef will cut into small pieces and you can select which type of sauce to tag along, I selected the original duck sauce which is soya sweet and taste perfect. Roast duck meat is so tender soft while the skin is crispy with layer of far underneath the skin is so wonderful.

On the same area, available for selection is the meat roll which was roasted with pepper but it was quite tasteless and the meat is quite hard.

Steamed Whole Fish, the big is way too big and old, the meat is quite hard and taste just normal.

Up next is more to local delicacy, cheese baked with fish meat, potato cheese.

Mushroom cook with Sea Cucumber, I would like to special recognize the sauce, mushroom is fully absorbing the sauce hence created a very delicious mushroom together with the sea cucumber.
Steamed Tau Te, as we all know that Tau Te Fish is very expensive and Yes you saw it correctly, a whole big Tau Te is served uncut and this size of Tau Te if to order in seafood restaurant it should cost at least RM70++ and they just served it, we took half of it and I must tell that this is definitely a wild catch which taste so fresh and good.

Fried Rice, generous amount of big fresh white prawn use to fried rice but we just can’t take much as it really filling. I did miss out certain dish here as well like the fried noodle, steamed rice..etc.

On Deep Fried items, there is six different type of items for you to choose from, various from Mantis Prawn, Squid, Shishamo Fish, Dumpling, Popiah and etc.
Honestly the deep fried items is not up to pal to the rest of the dishes, flour is over use and overlap the tastiness of the ingredients and most of the dishes is overcook like the squid I can’t hardly bite it.
Only one thing that I like is the mantis prawn, it really tastes good.

E&O Sarkies Corner Buffet Part I : Introduction and Appetizer

Eastern & Oriental Hotel, Penang Sarkies Corner Buffet is very well known for their buffet, serving good food with a lot variety but this is our first time to visit after temptation by so many great review by all food writer. Sarkies Corner offer a wide selection of delicious local and international delicacy together with bottomless wine, beer and fruit punch. The fine design and decoration of food has allowed me to take almost 100 photos which might cause slowness if I will to load all into single page hence I will separate into two page which the first post will focus on Introduction and Appetizer, appetizer, second post is Main Dish while third post will put focus on Dessert.

Just a day pass Deepavali and the price is slightly more expensive than usual which cost RM120++ for Saturday dinner buffet, advisable to park at E&O car park which cost RM5 but you can RM3 rebate from Sarkies Corner otherwise parking at clubbing area might cost you RM10 or RM15.

You get bottomless Wine and Beer for the buffet dinner, we took each a cup and this cup last us till the end of our dining without refill because it was way too strong for non-alcoholic like us but I must say the Red Wine is far more better than the White Fine as it was not that bitter and taste better.

Coffee machine is available on far end of the restaurant, for those who like hot drink must not miss the coffee, while fruit punch is located in another corner.

We start our appetizer with Sushi and Sashimi which just at the entrance of Sarkies Corner, various type of Sushi available for selection and Salmon is our choice as it really look great with layer of fat and meat. We just took one type of Rice Based Sushi to avoid reaching our quota so fast, the Salmon Sushi is very nice with fresh Salmon and Japanese Rice is just awesome. Other Sushi as well looks very good indeed.

Next to Sushi is appetizer, Preserved Egg, Duck Meat Eggroll and other appetizer, I like the Duck Meat Eggroll, where roasted duck meat is cut into small pieces together with crispy skin roll with eggroll to create a Sushi like appetizer, the far right corner is also duck meat without skin and big portion is from the duck breast together with some vegetable to make it like a salad. On the left orange color is not Salmon even though it look like instead it is a kind of fruit salad which taste really good.

After appetizer corner you come to various Cheese for your selection to either apply on top of bread or biscuit, we did not take any as we are not really big fan of cheese that doesn’t melt.

Great thing come next is the Sashimi, Oyster lover will definitely in love with Sarkies Corner Buffet because they has unlimited supply of raw oyster that keep on refill till we left. Oyster is really big and fresh taking with lemon is extremely delicious where the sea taste just came out from nowhere.

Taking another close up picture to make your mouth watering, and not only oyster instead there is fresh scallop that stacking high, scallop is fresh but the size is quite small. Muscle is just next if you have no worry on cholesterol level, big fresh muscle that tastes just as good as the oyster, sweetness from the sea.

Sashimi corner should not miss the Salmon Sashimi, fresh thick cut of Salmon sashimi is so inviting and we has taking a lot of it with the wasabi is just a perfect combination, next to the Salmon is prawn, big prawn but the prawn texture is a bit hard and chewy.

Garlic Prawn is sitting next to the well presented Watermelon and Papaya where highly skill chef crafting out the beautiful decorated item. Very strong garlic flavor for the grill prawn, if you are garlic lover this dish must not be miss.

Continue next is the Salad corner, where huge range of dressing up for selection with various type of vegetable. I just fail to name all the dressing, the variety is just way too much to be fix in my dictionary.

The dressings continue down the table and small plate of nicely decorated salad or cold food is available, or we call it spoon food where a small portion of food is served in spoon or small plate. Even though the portion is small but we not able to try out each and every dish because the variety is way too much.

Did a couple of close up shooting for Salad dishes,

Water Apple, Pineapple and Cucumber on top and bottom fill with Cuttle Fish which is small version of Rojak in small nicely decorated cup, the cuttle fish is so tasty and nicely boiled to tender soft.

It look like Tamago that normally you can easily get in Japanese Restaurant but it taste totally different which is very tasty but I just can’t tell what the ingredient used, it a little bit sweet and has a sponge cake feel.

France Baguette, Garlic Bread, Oat Bread and a lot more other bread for your selection, either to dip into the soup provided or take it with butter, honestly no one is taking any of this except the garlic bread but it was quite disappointed because the garlic bread is quite hard and not much garlic flavor.

There is two soup to choose for, Shark Fin Soup and Pumpkin Soup. Shark Fin Soup is really tasty where broth boiled with real crab meat and mushroom to produce the strong taste of Shark Fin Soup.

Gelastissimo Vanilla Ice Cream

Danbo introducing Gelastissimo Ice Cream! Let have a brief introduction of our Danbo, it made in Japan and actually is a cardboard box toy robots, it eye has built in LED that can be turn on, enough introduction of Danbo let get back to Ice Cream.
Gelastissimo located at Gurney Plaza ground floor, a small shop that selling limited taste of Ice Cream but less is always good. Like Baskin Robin and Haagan-Dazs where you can test all variety before decide which one to go for but they has something special which is chocolate ice cream but spicy in flavor, according to them this flavor of ice cream only available at 5 star hotel but no free testing.
I selected the Vanilla flavor which has very strong Vanilla flavor but the portion is quite small. First taste of the Vanilla ice cream, my tongue can tell that how pure the vanilla ice cream is, GREAT!

Mizi Bistro

Mizi Bistro, one of the most famous restaurant in New World Park and this is my second visit, since my first visit I did not take any photo this round I going to share with you how good this restaurant is.
All of us ordered the set lunch which is RM21.50 included of Drink, Soup, Dessert and Main Course, but the price of RM21.50 only apply for main cause of Pasta, Poultry, Seafood, Egg, Sandwiches, Vegetarian or Salad if you choose any item from Meat session then you will have to add additional RM6 based on the A’la Carte price

Mushroom Soup is their signature dish and no doubt it is one of the best mushroom soup I ever had, previously the best I had is Little Italy at Bukit Jambul there but sadly that shop is closing down. Back to this mushroom soup, strong flavor of mushroom and you can eat small pieces of chop mushroom in the soup.

Take some photo while waiting for our food, they provide different type of sauce like tabasco and hot pepper for those wish to had extra flavor.

Mizi Bistro

Complimentary loaf with butter, too bad that the loaf is not heated before they served else it would be better, as well the butter is not strong in flavor.

I had myself London Mixed Grill Set Lunch RM38, I was shocked when I saw the big portion served. Medallion of beef, lamb chop, chicken breast, sausage, grilled tomato and mash tomato is what form the Mix Grill set, together with black pepper sauce. Chicken Breast is suprisingly tender soft as I don’t expect chicken breast can be so soft, sausage taste just normal while lamb chop is tasty and not chewy.

Close look to the beef, half cook and showing pinky red inside with fine grill outside providing a good bite.

Ballotine of Chicken “Nelson” set lunch RM21.50, Boned leg of chicken stuffed with cheese and crabstick, crumbled and deep fried. Served with an apricot sauce. Sauce is sour and sweet and my friend give it a 4 out of 5 star.

Fish Cordon Blue set lunch RM21.50, Filled with chicken ham and cheese, crumbled then deepfried to golden brown with garlic butter. According to my friend the dish is delicious and the cheese is tasty, 4 out of 5 star.

Fillet of Fish “Almondine” set lunch RM21.50, Pan-fried topped with roasted almond flakes and butter sauce. My friend commented that it was a little bit salty but it still taste good, 3.x out of 5 star due to over salty.

Included in the set lunch is the free flow ice cream, where you got various flavor of ice cream like Mint, Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Corn and etc. Free topping provided as well, like the one I has is the multi colour chocolate rice.

No regret on my return visit, good food with affordable price, highly recommended.
